Choose what topics you will speak on 🗣️ [Marketing Insights #37]2 min read
This newsletter was sent on 13.08. Happy reading!
I often hear from colleagues who are starting a personal brand, "I don't know which topics I should choose to talk about."
The problem comes when the themes in the repertoire are more than 2-3 or even 5 (and up).
However, you and I both know that attention spans on social media are limited (yes, those 3 seconds we have to grab attention).
That's why most content creators do the following:
↳ Research audience needs as well as network trends
↳ Choose 1-3 main content topics (content pillars)
↳ Make them specific: e.g. Business → Tips for startups
That way, when a user visits your profile (e.g. on LinkedIn), they'll quickly answer the question, "How will this person be useful to me?"
You, on the other hand, won't confuse the algorithms further and will help them connect you to the right audience.
Have you chosen your content pillars yet?
AI Tool of the Week
Control your screen time
More than once I have seen my colleagues shocked when they find out how much time they spend in front of the screen.
Mental health is a serious topic among marketers and it's good that there are enough tools on the market to help.
One such app is YourHour, a mobile app that allows you to track your time with certain apps, but also set usage limits (e.g. up to 2 hours per day for Instagram).
The application has a very useful function and pleases thousands of users around the world, but recently I hear about some bugs, so the rating is - 7/10.

Instagram expands carousels to 20 slides
If you're growing a brand on Instagram, you should love this news - you can now put up to 20 slides in your carousels.
This also comes as another signal that carousels continue to be a workable and accentuated format on the platform.
They are most often used for educational content as the area is large enough to tell a story. PS. And in Canva you can try to create your first carousel. 😉
This is from me for today
See you soon!
