Sales success - a glimpse into the present!1 min read
"Sales makes the world go round," says Simon Heseldain in his book "Sales in the Real World". He deftly describes their importance not only to business, but to you and me - the ordinary consumer - from entering the supermarket to securing your home. Everything around us is the result of a transaction. Simon even goes further by defining selling as the world's oldest profession, and there's logic in that if you think about it.
How we sold yesterday is different from how we sell today. Our customers make more informed decisions and have more arguments to distinguish a good deal from a bad deal. People are at the heart of the business. That's why I prefer to say we do business not "for" people, but "with" people. Such a mindset in negotiation can set the stage for partner relationships and, more importantly, a way for us to get into the specifics of our clients' businesses to maximize our chances.
